This tutorial aims to help beginner Jekyll users in a way to “How they can customize their Jekyll Hosted Blog”. So, If you have never heard about it before , let me brief about it.

So, What is Jekyll ?

Basically Jekyll is a simple and blog-aware static site generator built in Ruby. So its like a cms, without the part of managing databases and static hosting.

Jekyll is really flexible. You can build templates and write content in markdown, textile, liquid, or even just plain HTML/CSS.Its up to your prefences, because jekyll will intelligently build your site based on all your files.

Think of it like a file-based CMS, without all the complexity. Jekyll takes your content, Markdown and Liquid renders templates, and spits out a complete, static website ready to be served by Apache, Nginx web server or another.
